Catalogue Fundraising: The Event

The day had arrived and after our sessions were done for the day we went down to the reception area and setup the tables and placed the cardboard cutouts in their positions. The event commenced at 5pm and would finish at 7pm.

I was to man the Tombola machine throughout this period trying to convince visitors to have a go at winning out selection of prizes we had lined up, everything from a Elsa doll to a pencil sharpener were setup as the prizes for the tombola. I made sure to be as eccentric as possible creating a persona that would constantly promote the tombola event and try to push the visitors as much as possible at having a go and making sure to explain the rules so people knew how to play, it was quite fun to do and I managed to get quite a few people to have a go at the tombola to a mix of successes and failures on the visitors behalf.

The night overall went decently well, the Tombola proved to be one of the more successful stalls, we discussed amongst ourselves and agreed the event probably would’ve been more successful if we had it during the weekend with an earlier starting time so more people would’ve had the chance to attend. Despite this we a decent sum of money to contribute towards the catalogue for the end of year show.
