One of the exhibitions I visited in Liverpool for my interim research was the JUMP! Curation by Sian Bonnell, his lecture reminded about this exhibition so I wanted to recap my thoughts and experience when visiting.
The subject matter was about the fashion of a different cultures as UK and China showed off the fashion of the younger generation, the images selected featured a young adult showcasing some intriguing fashion. The other factor to bring up was the diverse range of framing and size of the photos show as while there were normal framed photos within the curation there were also massive sized photos that really capture your attention quick.
While I don’t often focus on fashion portraits I did do some work that were focused on comic con cosplay, a type of fashion where someone embraces the identity of a fictional character and creates replicas of the character’s appearance so there is some personal connection between me and the exhibition.
